Allison and Seth: Married!

This wedding rocked! Allison and Seth know how to party, their friends know how to rock and they are all super cool. I had a great time assisting on this wedding. Everything about their wedding was fabulous. Allison's dress was perfect, the colors were bright, the church was gorgeous, and the reception was rockin. I don't think I've seen a dance floor as constantly full as at their wedding! Even better, everyone could actually bust a move.

Congratulations Allison and Seth! Best of luck on your marriage! :)

Now for the photos (that's the part you guys really wanted to see anyway) :)

Joanna and Brian: Engaged!

Joanna and Brian are so much fun! I had such a great time with them shooting their engagement session. Seriously guys, I can't wait for your wedding! Also, Joanna, I'm completely jealous of your hair. Even with the heat and humidity, it looked perfect! Brian, you're awesome too. Despite knowing nothing about sports, I enjoyed learning a bit from you!

I love when couples incorporate personal touches in their sessions. Brian is a huge sports fan and as luck had it, we were right by the NCAA building downtown, so managed to incorporate his love of sports (including matching ball caps for the two of them) into the photos!

The face behind the photos

For those who are curious, here's a bit about yours truly. You've seen my work, but here's a bit about me and who I am and what I do when I'm not photographing (which does happen on occasion).

I live and breathe photography. Seriously I have a dozen or so photo blogs that I follow daily.

I find creative people very inspirational, especially when I see things that are incredibly and I never would have though of but instantly fall in love with.

I'm a Gleek, like hardcore. :)

I am also a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings geek. Seriously going to cry this weekend at the last HP movie...

I love dancing, especially swing dancing. Matt, my husband, is a fabulous dancer and always manages to make me look good.

I am one of the most loyal people you will ever meet. The friends I have, I keep, no questions.

I absolutely LOVE to travel, anywhere and everywhere. If I could get paid to just travel the world and see the sights, I would do it. If I weren't a photographer, I would be a tour guide.

I have a BA in Fine Arts Photography from Milligan College in Tennessee (Go Buffalos!) and an MSc in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

I lived in Scotland for 2 years while Matt and I earned our Masters degrees. Best. Two. Years. Ever. I'm going to have to do a blog post soon about Scotland, so check back. Or, see my previous post about meeting Prince William and Kate. (Also, if you've never been to Scotland, book a trip now. You won't regret it!)

I've been to 13 countries and 3 continents with many plans to visit more (yes, that includes all 7 continents).

One of my life goals is to walk across the country of Andorra. It's only 6 miles across, but that's 6 miles of Alps, so that may be a bit of a challenge...

I have two main claims to fame at the moment: First, I met Prince William and Kate Middleton. (Ask and I'll tell you about it.) Second, I beat up a marine. Yes, me the 5'6" non-confrontational girl beat up a marine. (Disclaimer: I am a second degree black belt this was during a sparring match in a taekwon do class.)

I met my husband Matt while we were studying at Milligan and we've been married for 2.5 years. He asked me out online, but proposed in Disneyland, so he's a keeper. :)

I have moved 23 times in my life including moving back to Indiana from Scotland. I'm going for a record here. Also, if anyone ever needs packing tips, I am a packing guru.

I am a hardcore U2 fan. I love Bono, I love U2's music. I love their charity work. They're ace.

I like experimenting with Polaroid cameras, doing emulsion lifts with the prints.

I regularly quote movies/ tv shows in everyday conversation so keep up! :)

Yes, even taking photos at my graduation from the University of Edinburgh.

My wedding! I absolutely LOVED my dress! :)

Matt and I! :)

Melinda and Brad

These two are adorable and I had a great time assisting on their engagement shoot downtown. I love how you can read love all over their faces. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to be around them and not be caught up by their contagious smiles! Congratulations to you both!

Meeting Prince William and Kate

The quaint town of St Andrews Scotland plays host to more than just golf championships.

Prince William and Catherine Middleton, whose wedding was viewed by nearly 2 billion people (talk about nerve wracking).

They both graduated from the town’s prestigious university and in February of this year, returned to their alma mater as one of the main highlights of the university’s 600th (yeah, you read that right, 600 years) anniversary celebrations.

Prince William gave a speech at the university and following that, he and Kate walked up the street greeting students and locals who had gathered to see their prince return. I was fortunate enough to be living in St Andrews at the time and even more privileged to be able to see and photograph them both and even meet the future Queen! My friend, husband and I waited along the barriers for nearly 2 ½ hours to get a prime spot, and let me tell you, all that waiting really paid off! We got to shake hands with Kate, welcome her back to town and snap a few quick photos. (My husband asked her for a kiss, to which she smiled and gracefully declined.)

Even though it was just a brief meeting, just a handshake, I knew it was a big deal. I wasn’t just meeting another university graduate, nor was I just meeting the fiancée of Prince William, I was meeting the future Queen. Even cooler though, is that Kate is very down to earth, polite and kind. She’s exactly what you would hope she’d be. And, she’s just as gorgeous in person as she is in photos! She’s the epitome of class, and I only wish that I could have photographed her wedding!
