my fiance and I never really celebrate v-day so this year wasnt expected to be any different. My fiance works in africa every other month and left a week ago for africa all over again. Wedding planning is enough stress on anyone and this last time he was home he could see what the stress was doing to me. so I checked my mail late last week and to my surprise I had a gift card for a full body massage at a beautiful salon in town. Not only am I so thankful for the gift but for such an amazing fiance! Half way across the world and still caring for me as if he was right here next to me!
This Valentine's Day, my fiance showed me what true love is - self sacrifice. We currently live 3 1/2 hours away because I am still in school. This past week I had been sick and lost my voice. On Saturday, he made the 3 1/2 hour trip up to take care of me. He made me tea, went grocery shopping for me, and made sure I had everything I needed to recover which included a dozen red roses to lift my spirits and celebrate Valentine's Day. He was only here for less than 24 hours, but his willingness to drive 7 hours just to take care of me was truly a symbol of true love which goes to show that we like to celebrate our valentines every day! Thank you to my loving and caring fiance!
I am never really good at the whole gift giving thing, never have been and probably never will be. I think it's just something he's come to terms with over the years. Anyways, I came home to our daughter (2 years old) holding a card and a stuffed animal that she picked out just for me. There was also a dozen white roses (my fav), the funniest card and get this, EASTER candy from my fiance. We were cracking up...he didn't realize it was easter stuff until he got home but it was the thought that counts. We will never forget this V-Day not only because we got a great laugh out of it but because we got to spend the day with the ones we love....our family<3 Nothing better than that!
My husband bought me the 2 willow tree people I've wanted since we got married. Since I work about an hour away in a different time zone, I get home right around dinner. So when I got home yesterday, he had a delicious, dinner ready, along with a bottle of wine and flowers on the table. So lucky!
