]]>It's that time of year again for our annual scholarship!
This award is in memory of my cousin Danielle. I solely believe I would not be in photography if it wasn't for her. She loved the camera and loved to model and when we were growing up we would always go around and do shoots. It was awesome and that's when I really started to fall in love with photography. God blessed me with her inspiration and she gave me the courage to pursue my new found love. I know that she would want nothing but to help someone else out who is passionate about their art, whatever form of art that would be.

So with that we are giving away $1000 to any high school senior starting college in the fall / first year college freshman. Please submit to us a one-two page essay as to why you should receive this award, what your passion is and why you want to share that passion with the world. Along with the essay please send us a sample of your work whether that be music, paintings, photographs, your best modeling photo - you get the picture! E-mail all entries to brookeandpedro@gmail.com.
We are going to pick the top 5 and then have our blog readers vote for which entry they think should receive it!

Winners will be selected by January 31st, 2012.

]]>Let me just say this. Dana + Adam = total hotness. We had the most perfect day to shoot at the dunes and their session rocked. They were such great sports even though it was flippin' hot. All sweating aside, they look pretty DANG good. Know what I'm sayin'. You know what I'm sayin'.
I'm making a list of all of my fav things from this session in no specific order.
1. The sky- BLUE just the way I like it. yeahhhhh
2. The canoe, boat, thing. HOT.
3. Rocks shaped in a heart.
4. Pedro writing "HELP" in the sand while I was shooting.... REALLY? lol Weirdo.

]]>Elizabeth & Orion are huge Cubs fans and decided to do their engagement session at Wrigley Field in Chicago. :)
We weren't sure if we could get into the field to snap some shots, but fate was on our side. WOOHOO!
I'm so glad they were oh so forgiving as I didn't know ONE thing about Cubs, baseball or anything sports related. :) :)
Turns out I should check the schedule next time I plan an engagement session in downtown Chicago because all the roads were blocked off & just so happens a few blocks down was the massive pride parade. I don't know if you've ever tried to shoot a couple's session and make them look like they were the only ones in the area when they were thousands - but it was quite the challenge.
Challenge accepted & rocked - LOVED it!

]]>We've been working like crazy lately and it's been extremely important to us that we actually find a hobby. It's sort of weird.. because our old hobby was photography but when you turn your hobby into your job, it sucks some of the fun out of it. BOO! Sometimes you forget what it's like to just shoot the shiz.
So, we headed to google and tried to find hobbies for couples to do. OF COURSE #2 was photography. bahahha. Go figure. ;) So we're trying to make it our hobby again by shooting all sorts of randomness.

]]>In the meantime I had to get some photos of him, after bribing him with some ice-cream (works everytime), he finally cooperated.
He has now succesfully learned how to do some poses...
Hands in pocket, thumb out - which if I've shot you... you know how often I do this whenever I'm shooting men, arms crossed, and he now knows how to "fake laugh" like a pro. ;)
